CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN

SO the place to be right now is down at the Design Museum in London. They are currently exhibitioning the work of Christian Louboutin and his amazing shoe collections. I visited the museum wednesday just gone and fell in love with the diamonds and crazy designs. I felt like a magpie obsessing over the glitter and shiny objects. I also loved seeing his original design work, its was good to see how he illustrates his designs and the procees of how he makes them.

IF your a bit of a shoe snob or just have an eye for designer label, get down there now! The Must Go to place in London.

HONEYCOMB

HONEYCOMB[Three quater length shot]

HONEYCOMB lighting is one of m favourite types of lighting. I Love how the face is defined by shading and shows bone structure well.

For this image I went for the most natural look by using neutral tones on her face. This type of lighting is great for producing cover shots or even make up ads. On shoot I played around with the positioning of the face to achieve the best angle. I chose this shot simply due to its similiarities of Eve. I strongly suggest this type of lighting if you are looking to shoot a simple portrait.

For the movement of his shot I focused on her hair. I used a fan to lightly move the hair to get the best image. I think that i should of used shutter speed to gain the best image as it would of show hair movement in slow motion.

GATSBY GLAMOUR

FLAPPERS were the rage of the 1920s, the era of Gatsby Glamour. Style changed dramatically from wearing your everday corset dress to the shapeless, shorter gowns. The idea of women being degraded down to small figures was despised by the infamous designer Coco Chanel, who designed flapper dresses.
As you can see in this image, women with curvier bodies could wear the 'Fashion' of this time. I am currently working on Gatsby Glamour project in a group and am loving researching the different styles. A classic theme that runs throughtout the decade was fringing, beads and chiffron fabrics. As a group I am excited to see how we can interpret this style as a modern garment

WINTER PIMP

WinterPimp[Winter Collection]

From the subtitle 'Winter Collection' your initial thoughts are fur, boots and woolly hats. My initial thought was Rihanna's 'pimp' outfit from her music video 'You da One'. The styling of her outfit consisted of shorts, fur coat and a bowler hat. I have produced a homage by keeping as close to the original styling and believe I have done this well. As for the art direction I inspired my model by playing 'You da One' and allowed her to move to the song. To highlight that this image is a representation of a pimp, the pose shown is quite sexual and explicit.

As for the make-up, I looked at tutorials of how to apply the exact make-up. I found that fake eyelashes were applied in a strange way in that they were applied to one lower lid. I have made this feature noticable in my homage and makes the image more sexual and intriguing.

Overall I think my homage to Rihanna was successful in keeping with the theme 'Winter Collection'. This piece shows sexuality and 'boyish' behaviour.

I feel I have achieved a fashion image that portrays a winter collection. The fur element being winter with the theme of 'pimp' being the fashion aspect. I think I have achieved a good fashion image.
